The Best Ayurvedic Breakfast

If I'm not having weekend pancakes cooked Apples and Pears it is. They are my absolute favorite! Pure comfort, that can be consumed as a breakfast, sweet snack or dessert. Its amazing when food tastes good and is also good for you. This recipe is simple, fast, and can be made with a few ingredients that you most likely already have.


Sweet tastes promote Happiness Calmness Contentment Satisfaction and Love in the mind



Consuming raw fruits for breakfast during colder months can leaving the body feeling less satiated. Having cooking fruits with warming spices leaves the body feeling comforted.




 

Ingredients

  • 1c chopped Organic red apples

  • 1c chopped Organic green pears

  • IF NON ORGANIC REMOVE SKIN

  • Apples can be substituted for pears & vice versa

  • 1 1/2 tbsp melted coconut oil

  • 1tsp freshly grated ginger

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp allspice

  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

  • 1 pinch of mineral salt

  • 1/4c or less Purified Water


Step 1: Let’s Get Choppin


Chop the apples and pears into medium sized pieces and grate your ginger.

*If your fruit and ginger are not organic remove the skins


Step 2: Lets Get Cookin


Over medium heat warm the oil and spices

Add in fruit, ginger, and coat evenly in oil mixture

Simmer for 1-2 minutes until fragrant


Step 3: Wait Patiently


Slowly pour in water and bring to a low boil.

Cover and simmer for 7-10 minutes until tender.



 

Enjoy!

Serve warm or make and save for later. Store and refrigerate leftovers in a mason jar for 3-5 days.


Other serving ideas: Perfect topping or mix in for warm cereals, pie filling, or with nice cream!
